Fluffy, creamy, fragrant, fresh and hellip and the words of praise can go on. If you want to be sure that you are serving a grade 10 dessert, then your guests will surely be delighted with the flavor of a Tiramisu cake.

The origin of this wonderful dish is lost in the mists of time, and one thing is certain: it is an Italian vero. Venice, Lombardy, Piedmont or Tuscany are still disputing the authorship of this cake, whose intense aroma of coffee makes it unmistakable.
Venezuelans say it is theirs, an energizing dessert from the Renaissance era, consumed by courtiers between love parties to gain power. In fact, the old recipe used goat's milk, a product known for its aphrodisiac qualities, and its strong coffee essence.
Another story says that it was invented by a skinny pastry chef from Lombardy who cut it out of some leftover biscuits and cream that he never dared to throw away.

The Piedmontese claim that the desert appeared during the First World War. It was prepared by women in northern Italy for wives who went to war, reminding them of their homes and giving them energy to fight, due to their high caffeine content.

Others say that it was prepared for the first time in Siena, on the occasion of the visit that Grand Duke Cosimo III of Medici made to that area. He seems to have been so pleased with the delicious cake that he wanted to recite with him at home, Floren.

The legend also refers to a pastry chef from Turin who made such a dessert for Prime Minister Camillo Benso Conte de Cavour, a political leader who wanted at that time the unification of the entire Italian territory. It is also said that the coffee dessert was prepared for the first time in the town of Treviso, at the famous restaurant The Toula.

Spirulina Ice Cream Recipe

Mint and spirulina ice cream - recipe

This time I chose an ice cream with a refreshing mint flavor. Spirulina powder gives this ice cream an intense green color to match the taste, and comes with many health benefits. It has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-allergic (allergic rhinitis), anti-anemic, energizing properties, lowering blood pressure and triglycerides and regulating blood sugar levels.

One teaspoon of spirulina powder contains:

& # 8211 Protein (4 g)
& # 8211 Copper (21% of RDA)
& # 8211 Vitamin B1 (11% of RDA)
& # 8211 Vitamin B2 (15% of RDA))
& # 8211 Vitamin B3 (4% of RDA)
& # 8211 Iron (11% of RDA)

Spirulina also contains good amounts of magnesium, potassium and manganese, and small amounts of almost all the nutrients our body needs.

• 200 g of cashews
• 1 banana
• ½ teaspoon of spirulina powder
• mint essence or finely chopped mint leaves
• 2 tablespoons coconut oil
• 1 tablespoon of alcohol (rum, liqueur, vodka, sour cherry, etc.)
• 2 tablespoons of honey

Put the cashew nuts and soak them in a bowl of water (enough to cover them) and leave them in the fridge for 4-6 hours (or overnight).

If the coconut oil is solid (from the fridge), you can melt it on the steam bath. (it should not boil, but just become liquid). After you give the ice cream to cold, the coconut oil will harden and will "coagulate" the whole composition.

Put the puffed cashews (drained water), sliced banana, coconut oil, mint essence and spirulina powder in a blender and mix until you get a creamy and homogeneous composition. Finally add the alcohol and honey, to taste.

Pour the composition into pans, glasses or cups and leave it in the freezer for 3 hours. Alcohol has the role of preventing the formation of ice needles. However, to make it finer, remove the ice cream after 30 minutes of freezing and mix it vigorously with the spoon. Do this twice.

Remove the ice cream from the freezer at least half an hour before consuming it.

You can also add small pieces of dark chocolate (high in cocoa), grated chocolate or a few tablespoons of cocoa powder to this recipe.
